MyCityMondays R&B Jam 2 Recap by

Established in March of 2010, “My City Mondays” continues to present the opportunity to local talent to show the public what they’re made of. The event presents opportunities for producers to battle, the chance to perform live and additional opportunities to open for well-known artists. Earlier this year in March, ‘My City Mondays’ held a contest to allow local talent the chance to compete to open for well-known artist, 2 Chainz.

Last night with an attendance of over 200 people, My City Mondays presented the 2nd edition of R&B jam, celebrating the album release of artist Dani Singh. With other special performances by Michael Stokes, Palmer Reed and Young Scholar, this event clearly brought the city out. Singh started her performance dedicating the first tune she sang to a cheating ex-boyfriend that inspired her song. Apparently he was in attendance with the girl he cheated on her with and it doesn’t get much bolder than that.

I always find that amusing when women get a boyfriend by default because he chose her over the girl he cheated on to be with her. Um, hello? How you get him will be how you lose him but that’s none of of my business.

Preston “PK” Prathers, started the event 4 years ago and has given countless opportunities to any artist that’s brave enough to hit that stage on the first Monday of the month. From guest panels to networking to having a happy hour you can’t lose. Happy hour had me at hello so… even if you don’t like music you can drink until you do!

My City Mondays is presented by Orlando’s Newest Hip Hop Radio Station 104.5, Street Runnaz, Bank BoyzSociety, Merrim Live and Royalty Entertainment Group.
